Victor Chissano, son of an Italian woman and a Mozambican man, lived briefly in France before moving to Italy when he was just 10 years old.

He started as a singer at only 13 years old and when he was 16 he founded the reggae band Afromind.

When he was 18, he welcomed the electronic sound and he had the chance to play with well-known artists such as Carl Cox, Timo Mass, Felix the Housecat, Josh Wink and Barbara Tucker.

Out of the blue, he found out about the drum and bass thanks to the Rollers Inc duo. He collaborated as MC with talented artists as Goldie, D.Bridge, Concorde Dawn, Dementia, State of Mind, Tc, Spor, Alix Perez, Icicle, Vicious Circle, Spectrasoul, Tr3i, Rockwell and for 8 years he was one of the guests of the exclusive drum and bass holiday “SUNANDBASS”.

In 2006, Victor and Ninja (drummer from the Italian band Subsonica) created LNRipley, a dnb collective, winner of the “Best newcomer band of the year” award. The approach is to blend together drum ‘n’ bass, punk, electronic music, “real” music instruments and distortions. Their cover of “Killing in the name" of Rage Against The Machine was a real hit in the clubs, and it came before their self-titled debut album (2007). They had many live performances and the opportunity to be the opening act for Fatboy Slim and Justice.

Victor met Tricky in the backstage during one of his concert; Tricky was fascinated by him and he decided to invite Victor to sing with him on the stage of TRAFFIC FESTIVAL 08. This moment was a turning point for Victor and his concept of music.

Between 2008 and 2009 Victor worked on the LNRipley’s new record, released in 2010. The album was shared for free during their concerts, using only a usb device named “Packages (USB alert)”. The record was rewarded for its innovation in musical distribution.

In 2010 Groove Armada chose Victor as MC for the event “Torino Youth Capitali”, where he made more than 50.000 people dance in the beating heart of the city.

Their album BLUROOM BOX 1, recorded for the English label NoMad, was released in 2012, instead their fourth and last album, THE GETAWAY, came out in April 2014. With the following tour, they visited the prestigious festival of Barcelona, “Primavera Sound”, which is one of the top five best moments of the band, headed by their attendance at the Sziget Festival in Budapest.

And the rest… is history.
